WATER CONSERVATION PLAN
RESOLUTION NO. 05-07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK,
TEXAS, ADOPTING A WATER CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF
UNIVERSITY PARK, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of University Park recognizes that the amount of water available to its
customers is limited; and
WHEREAS, the City of University Park recognizes that due to natural limitations, drought
conditions, system failures and other acts of God which may occur, the City of University Park
cannot guarantee an uninterrupted water supply for all purposes at all times; and
WHEREAS, the Water Code and the regulations of the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality (the "Commission") require that the City adopt a Water Conservation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of University Park has determined an urgent need in the best interest of
the public to adopt a Water Conservation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of University Park desires to adopt the Water Conservation Plan as its
official policy for the conservation of water.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Water Conservation Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
made part hereof for all purposes be, and the same is hereby, adopted as the official policy of the
City of University Park.
SECTION 2. That the City of University Park is hereby directed to implement,
administer, and enforce the Water Conservation Plan.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage, and it is
accordingly so resolved.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of University Park, Texas, on the 20th
day of April 2005.
