HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 11/28 2 hr parking on McFarlin and around Burleson Park ORDINANCE NO. 11/28 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS, PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MCFARLIN BETWEEN HIGH SCHOOL AND GOLF, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF DANIEL BETWEEN DUBLIN AND DURHAM, ON THE EAST SIDE OF DURHAM BETWEEN UNIVERSITY AND DANIEL, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF UNIVERSITY BETWEEN DUBLIN AND DURHAM, AND ON THE WEST SIDE OF DUBLIN BETWEEN DANIEL AND UNIVERSITY, IN EXCESS OF TWO HOURS AT ANY TIME FROM 8:00 A. M. TO 5:00 P.M., MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, EXCEPT HOLIDAYS; PROVIDING FOR THE ERECTION OF SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That it shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to leave, stand or park any motor vehicle on the South side of McFarlin between High School and Golf, on the South side of Daniel between Dublin and Durham, on the East side of Durham between University and Daniel, on the North side of University between Dublin and Durham, and on the West side of Dublin between Daniel and University, in excess of two hours at any time from 8:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. SECTION 2. That all ordinances of the City of University Park in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That should any sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance be adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal, or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof, other than the part decided to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. That any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the municipal court of the City of University Park, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. SECTION 7. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption, as the law and Charter in such cases provide. The parking restrictions set out herein shall not be effective until appropriate signs giving notice thereof shall have been erected as provided by the Code of Ordinances.
