AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK TEXAS,
ABANDONING A PORTION OF THE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY OF TURTLE CREEK
BOULEVARD, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A HERETO, TO
THE ABUTTING OWNERS, THOMAS SHARPE AND CATHERINE SHARPE;
PROVIDING FOR THE FURNISHING OF A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE
FOR RECORDING IN THE REAL PROPERTY RECORDS OF UNIVERSITY PARK
COUNTY, TEXAS, AS A QUITCLAIM DEED OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of University Park, Texas, has determined that a
certain street right-of-way, as described herein, is not needed or necessary for public purposes by
the City and any claim to it should be abandoned to the abutting owners, subject to the provisions of
this ordinance; Now, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY
PARK, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City of University Park hereby abandons and quitclaims, in favor of the
abutting owners, Thomas Sharpe and Catherine Sharpe ("Owners"), of 3701 Stanford, a 55.5 square
feet portion of the street right-of-way of Turtle Creek Boulevard that is no longer needed or
necessary for public purposes by the City, said right-of-way being more particularly described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes, the same as if fully copied
herein, in the City of University Park, Dallas County, Texas (the "abandoned area").
SECTION 2. That the City of University Park does not abandon any other interest other
than described in Exhibit "A", but does hereby abandon all of its right, title, or interest in the
described real property, together with any and all improvements thereon, if any, subject however, to
the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. That upon payment to the City by Owners of $5,661.00, the fair market
value of the interest described and depicted in Exhibit "A" as determined by an appraisal obtained
by the City for this purpose, the City Secretary is directed to prepare a certified copy of this
ordinance and furnish the same to Owners for recording in the Real Property Records of Dallas
County. The recording of this abandonment ordinance in the Real Property Records of Dallas
County, Texas, shall serve as a quitclaim deed of the City of University Park of all such right, title
or interest of the City of University Park in and to the abandoned area, plus all improvements
thereon, if any.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, as
the law and Charter in such cases provide.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
SITUATED in the State of Texas, County of Dallas, being out of the
Josiah Borker Sur1ey, Abstract No. 80, being a part of the
right-of-way of Turtle Creek Boulevard (80' right-of-way) as shown on
the Revised First Section of University Heights. an addition to the City
of University Park as recorded in Volume 3, Page 383 of the Dallas
County Map Records and being more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows:
COW.IENCING at an 'x' found in concrete at the southeast corner of
Lot 27. Block I of said addition. being at the intersection of the curving
northwest right-of-way of said Turtl€ Creek Boulevard and the north
line of a 15.0 foot alley right-of-way;
THENCE with the southeast line of said Lot 27 and the curving
north west line of said Turtle Creek Boulevard. northeasterly along a
curve to the riqht having a central angle of 04'33'49" and a radius
of 980.00 feet (Chord=North 34'4 1'04" West, 78.03 feet for on ore
length of 78.06 feet to to a point marking the beginning of a reverse
curve to the leit and the POINT OF BEGIN~jiNG of the herein described
premises;
THENCE with th e northwest line of said premises, lhe southeast line
of said Lot 27 and the cu rvir19 right-of-way of said Turtle Creek
Boulevard. northeasterly along a curve to the :eft having a central angle
of 4T02'26" and a radius of 47.23 feet (Chord=North 13'44'54"East,
37.70 feet ) for an arc length of 38.78 feet to a point marking the
north corner of the premises;
