Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance No. 15_024 Adopting an updated flood insurance studyORDINANCE NO. 15/024 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 3.06.003 (b) IN PART BY ADOPTING AN UPDATED FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Chapter 3, Article 3.06-Flood Damage Prevention, University Park Code of Ordinances, is amended by amending Section 3.06.003 (b) as follows: "Sec. 3.06.003 General Provisions (b) Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard. The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in a scientific and engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for Dallas County, Texas", dated July 7, 2014, with accompanying flood insurance rate maps and flood boundary- floodway maps (FIRM and FBFM) and any revisions thereto, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this Article 3.06." SECTION 2. All provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of University Park, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Should any word, phrase, paragraph, or section of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity of the Code of Ordinances as a whole. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
