HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 18-009 prohibiting parking along the east curb line of Turtle Creek Boulevard between Purdue Street and Dickens AvenueORDINANCE NO. 18-009 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS, PROHIBITING PARKING AT ANY TIME ON THE EAST SIDE OF TURTLE CREEK BOULEVARD FROM PURDUE STREET TO DICKENS A VENUE; PROVIDING FOR THE ERECTION OF SIGNS INDICATING NO PARKING AT ANY TIME; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS: SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to leave, stand or park any motor vehicle at any time on the east side of Turtle Creek Boulevard from the point of its intersection with Purdue Street to the point of its intersection with Dickens A venue. SECTION 2. All ordinances of the City of University Park in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Should any sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance be adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal, or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance, or any part or provision thereof, other than the part decided to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the municipal court of the City of University Park, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption, as the law and Charter in such cases provide. The parking restrictions set out herein shall not be effective until appropriate signs giving notice thereof shall have been erected as provided by the Code of Ordinances indicating ''NO PARKING AT ANY TIME."
