AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK,TEXAS,AMENDING
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK,CHAPTER 12,
ARTICLE 12.02,DIVISION 2,TO REPEAL AUTOMATED TRAFFIC SIGNAL
ENFORCEMENT;AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City Council has determined that the Texas Legislature has enacted
legislation that no longer permits municipalities to utilize automated traffic signal enforcement in the
City;Now Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY
PARK,TEXAS:
SECTION 1.That Chapter 12 "Traffic and Vehicles",Article 12.02,Division 2,
"Automated Traffic Signal Enforcement",Code of Ordinances,City of University Park,Texas,is
amended to repeal said Division 2 in its entirety as follows:
"CHAPTER 12 TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES
ARTICLE 12.02 TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES
Division 2.Reserved"
SECTION 2.All ordinances of the City of University Park in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage,as the law and
Charter in such cases provide.
DUL Y PASSED by the City Council of the City of University Park,Texas,on the 1st day of
October 2019.
