ORDINANCE NO. 06/25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS, Al\tIENDING
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK, AS
HERETOFORE AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 10.1213 TO ADD A RESIDENT-
PARKING-ONLY ZONE IN THE 6600 BLOCK OF WESTCHESTER; PROVIDING FOR
THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is necessary to add a resident-only permit area to
expedite the orderly flow of trafficaIld to eliminate traffic cougestiol1, to promote traffic safety, and
to preserve the residential character of neighborhoods in the area of certain streets in the vicinity of
Highland Park High School; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY
PARK, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 10 of the Code of Ordinances, City of University Park,
Texas, is hereby amended by amending Section 10.1213, in part, as follows:
"Section 10.1213 Resident.Qnly Permit Parking
(a)
(b) Designation of resident-par king-only zones; Regulation of parking
(A) ...
(D) the 4300 block ofHyer, from the point of its intersection with Douglas,
west a distance of 260 feet; and
(E) the East side of the 6600 block of Westchester, from Emerson to the
alley South of the parking garage."
SECTION 2. All ordinances of the City of University Park in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as arnended hereby, are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. Should any sentence, paragraph, subdivision, dause, phrase or section of this
ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be adjudged or held to be
unconstitutional, illegal, or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance or the
Code of Ordinances as a whole, or any PaIt or provision thereof, other than the paIt decided to be
unconstitutional, illegal or invalid.
SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or the traffic
control devices authorized hereby shall be deemed guilty of a misdem.eanor and, upon conviction in
the municipal court, shall be ftned in an amount not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars
($200.00) for each offense.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance sha.ll take effect immediately from and after its passage
and the publication of the caption, as the law and Charter in such cases provide.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of University Park, Texas, on the 26rh
day of September 2006.
